  • What is Respite Care and how can it benefit family caregiver's?
Everything in life is about balance, and caregiving is no exception. At Tru East, we have all been family caregivers and understand the need to devote yourself to the care of a loved one. It is an admirable devotion. However, you cannot forget to take care of yourself too. As a family caregiver, you need to be able to find time to decompress, recharge, and pursue your hobbies and goals. When we become so absorbed in devoting time to the care and support of our loved ones, we risk caregiver burnout. Respite care is about giving that much-needed relief to family caregivers. Our caring and compassionate caregivers will step in and provide support for your loved one as needed, giving you the chance to take a break and rest, and focus on your own life for however long you may need. It could be for a few hours, a week, or daily, whatever is best and suits your needs. We will be there to step in and provide personalized care that will allow your loved one to be comfortable in their own home, to do activities, and engage in stimulating conversation, so when you come back to caregiving, it is with a fresh perspective.
